Finally my prayers have been answered!! After TOO MANY seasons, Canadian Idol has been shut-down!!
CTV has issued a statement saying,
"As a result of the current economic climate, production of Canadian Idol will rest for the 2009 year."
In other words - Nobody really gives a sh*t anymore!! I don't mean to be harsh, but really, the show sucked compared to American Idol and pretty much everything else on TV... All I can say now is...
Theo Tams (who??) won the 6th season (there's been that many already??) of Canadian Idol last night!! I'll admit, I didn't watch, nor did I care to watch any of this season's competition... I'm only reporting on this because Mariah Carey performed on the finale and I heard she was wicked!! Oh, and last year's winner, Brian Melo also sang, in case you DO care!!
So yeah, congrats to Theo whatshisname - Hopefully he'll sell a few records have a good year!!
What I'm actually excited to see is So You Think You Can Dance Canada which begins later tonight!!
Last years runner-up on Canadian Idol is trying to make his mark in the country music scene... Jaydee Bixby from Drumheller, Alberta, has released his first country single entitled, Old Fashioned Girl and I don't know much about country music, but I kind of like it... I like Jessica Simpson's first country single better though!!
Jaydee was recently signed to Her Royal Majesty’s Records, and his debut album, Cowboys and Cadillacs hit stores yesterday!! What are your thoughts on his first single/video??
