RUSSELL PETERS APOLOGIZES - BUT IS IT ENOUGH??

Russell Peters finally apologized some-what for his comments towards an 11-year-old boy during the 2008 Juno Awards... I had contacted Russell's reps. the other day and they had no comment on the situation... And since Russell didn't apologize, his friend Trevor Boris (a Juno Award show writer) spoke out on his behalf...

Vibe

Russell was on Calgary's radio station, 98.5 FM the other day talking to show host, Mastermind about hosting the Junos and how he "felt bad" for the poor 11-year-old boy... Have a listen...

I'm glad Russell finally apologized, but I feel he still needs to come forward and address the issue in an official statement and not just on 1 radio station... Do you think this is enough, or should Russell do more for little Teddy?!

JUNO SHOW-WRITER / FRIEND OF RUSSELL PETER'S SPEAKS OUT...

Sadly, Russell Peters has NOT apologized yet for his comments towards an 11-year-old boy during the 2008 Juno Awards... I contacted Russell's reps. yesterday and they had no comment on the situation... CLICK HERE to read about what happened..

Trevor

However, Juno show-writer / a friend of Russell's, Trevor Boris did come forward with a statement on what happened...

"As one of the writers of the Juno Awards, and a close friend of Russell Peters (I'm also openly gay), I know that Russell Peters did NOT mean any harm by his 'flamer' comment to the young boy in the crowd during the show, and felt bad afterwards. What happened was that he was asked to 'stretch' for a minute as the show was light at the time, and was put in the crowd to chat with some fans. He made a 'flamer' reference to a guy wearing a shirt with flames all over it, then talked to a young boy in the crowd, and after having some fun with him, he asked since he was so young if he even liked girls yet. Well, the kid said 'no'. I don't think Russell was expecting that and as almost any comic would've done in that position made a call back to the 'flamer' joke.. He did not mean to hurt his feelings, and it was not in the script. It just came out."

FAMILY SPEAKS: RUSSELL PETERS EMBARRASSES 11-YEAR-OLD BOY!!

The 11-year-old boy who Russell Peters made fun of at The Junos was so embarrassed, he didn't even want to go to school yesterday according to family members!!

Family members contacted Isthishappening.com and said,

"He was so embarrassed by [Russell Peters] comments last night that he was afraid kids at school would make fun of him and call him 'gay'... We hope Russell will do the right thing and apologize. Picking on a young kid is nothing to be proud of."

Russell had asked the boy his age and if he was into girls... The kid said NO, and Russell said, "Hey Calgary... Speaking about FLAMES..."

The audience laughed and the boy looked as if he was goin' to cry... He had no idea what Russell meant!! An Isthishappening.com source who was in the VIP section told us, "They asked him if he was okay and one person rubbed him on the back and said, "you did good."  He didn't seem thrilled."

I hope Russell sees this and like the family says, DOES THE RIGHT THING!!

QUOTE OF THE DAY...

Russell Peters was the host of the 2008 Juno Awards last night, and he was f**kin' hilarious... However, I think he crossed a couple lines...

Hurt

He started off the night by saying, "South Asians are now the largest visible minority group in Canada... You know what that means, Calgary. Pretty soon your cowboys are going to be Indians."

He then crossed the line when he spoke to an 11-year-old boy from the audience... He asked the boy his age and if he was into girls... The shy boy said NO, and Russell said, "Hey Calgary... Speaking about FLAMES..."

The audience laughed and the boy looked as if he was goin' to cry... He had no idea what Russell meant!! Do you think he went to far??
