The surviving members of The Grateful Dead have announced that they will embark on their first tour in nearly five years this spring.
These days the remaining members call themselves , The Dead, and have confirmed today that they'll play a 20 show concert series across the USA.
The band, which now consists of original members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, will be joined by their 2004 tour-mates Warren Haynes on guitar (replacing late guitarist Jerry Garcia) and Jeff Chimenti on keyboards.
The exact tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

According to reports, "the girls have been meeting up and discussing a reunion tour."
During their five years together B*Witched sold an incredible 10 million records while they toured with Britney Spears and 'N Sync around North America.

18-year-old Chris Brown has been named Billboard's top artist of 2008!! The #2 artist was Lil Wayne, then Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift. In an interview yesterday Chris said,
"It's bigger than what I can ever imagine. It's unexpected totally, so it's a surprise!!"

Rock guitarist Joe Satriani has sued Coldplay, accusing the Grammy-nominated stars of plagiarizing one of his songs... Joe claims the Coldplay song Viva La Vida incorporates "substantial original portions" of his 2004 instrumental If I Could Fly.
The 52-year-old is seeking a jury trial, damages and "any & all profits" attributable to the alleged copyright infringement.

Sadly, Phantom Planet will be playing our last show, December 12, at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, the same venue that we played our very first live all ages gig, back in 1994. We have had an amazing time playing together for 15 years, but we have officially decided to go on hiatus, and will not be playing any more live shows or making any new records, indefinitely. There is so much more to write, but at this time, we just want to say thank you, to everyone, for their support, friendship, inspiration, attendance, and love."

Rihanna passed out on stage during her concert last night at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia... While she was performing her hit, Umbrella, the last song of her concert, she was joined on stage by her boyfriend, Chris Brown and then was seen hunching over and signaling that she wasn’t feeling well... Rihanna then ran off stage, where paramedics rushed to her side while Chris finished the song without her...
The concert ended without any mention of what exactly happened!!
UPDATE: Rihanna's rep. issued the following statement about the incident, "It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna's set was over, she went off stage to sit down, catch her breath and have some water. She is perfectly healthy and will be at her show tomorrow."

He says the brothers, including Michael, are going to go on a world tour next year AND that Janet will be their opening act!!

"It is just the timing, so what we've been doing is working on the music and all the logistics. It is going to be more like a family affair, Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5... Michael, Randy and the whole family. We're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year."

Phish sorta got back together a few months ago at The Rothbury Music Festival in Michigan, but now they are OFFICIALLY back!! The jam band, which disbanded in 2004, is planning three dates next March in Hampton, Va.... A notice posted on the band’s website says Phish will play March 6th, 7th and 8th at the Hampton Coliseum...
Inside sources also report that more 2009 dates will be announced later!! This is the best news I've heard all day - I love these guys!! Here's an idea: DMB/Phish tour - Oh yeahhhhhh!!
