Hugh Jackman will host the 81st annual Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed today... What happened to Justin Timberlake?! Is Hugh even funny??

VANITY FAIR'S OSCAR PARTY GETS "COZIER"!!

The nation’s economic crisis is hitting the publishing industry in a big way... Vanity Fair Magazine announced yesterday that it’s holding its annual star-studded Oscar night party at the Sunset Tower Hotel on February 22, 2009, but this year’s event will have a slightly “cozier” feel than in the past...

Vanity Fair's editor Graydon Carter said,

“The party will be a much more intimate affair than in years past; we’re going to scale back the guest list considerably. We’ll celebrate Hollywood’s big night the way we did when we first threw the party 15 years ago - it will be a cozier, more understated event. And one with familiar decor - given the current economy, and our dedication to the green movement, we will be recycling many of the elements of years past.”

Pretty much, A-listers ONLY!!

WANNA GO TO THE OSCARS?!

Good news to all of you celebrity lovers out there... The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that they'll be offering 300 seats in an online lottery for YOU to sit along the red carpet in Hollywood...

Starting next Monday at 9am PDT, you can enter online for a chance to win seats just in front of the Kodak Theater... Potential winners can register up to four seats to win!! The contest will end on September 28th at 9pm with The Oscars taking place on February 22nd - See you all there!!

BRINGIN' "SEXYBACK" TO THE OSCARS?!

According to sources, Justin Timberlake may be the host of the 2009 Oscars!! Bosses at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences were left so impressed with J.T.'s hosting duties at ESPN’s 2008 ESPY Awards, they’re convinced he can save the next Academy Awards from the event’s recent succession of sagging ratings...

The inside source says,

"They think Justin can reel in young viewers and make the show much more exciting... He’s more than a singer - he’s a song-and-dance man... Justin does it all and he knows how to work a star-studded audience."

So far, the chances of seeing Justin at the 2009 Oscars looks promising!! The other rumoured choice is comedian, Tina Fey... We'll see who they pick!!

NOT SO HOT: GARY BUSEY...

I was on the Oscar red-carpet when Gary Busey annoyed Ryan Seacrest... but this new video footage of him being totally rude to an 11 year-old girl is just ridiculous!! Grow up Gary!!

OSCAR RECAP...

Just got back to Toronto, and lookin' through all my Oscar pictures, and boy do I have tonz!! Overall on my Oscar predictions I scored a 13/26... not too bad for a Canadian!! Sadly, no Canadians took home an award... The whole experience was mind-blowing, and it was amazing to be apart of Hollywood's biggest night...

What an amazing weekend I had in Hollywood attending The Oscars... from hangin' with Amanda & shopping on Robertson Avenue, to being on the red carpet from the very beginning, to meeting all the stars and partyin' - WOW - WHAT A TRIP!!

I'm now flyin' back to Toronto where I'll be hangin' with Mel B at C Lounge later tonight, and than goin' to see The Spice Girls final show of their tour at The ACC Tuesday night!

OSCAR CRASH NIGHT...

As I was coming back from the Sunset strip, Oscar winner Karen Baker Landers, who won Best Sound Editing for The Bourne Ultimatum, had her ride wrecked after another car slammed into hers'... I saw her standing on the side of the road, showing off her Oscar and posing for pictures as she talked to the cops/people...

That's a true winner!!

LATE NIGHT CRAB DANCE...

I posted earlier about the Brazil media boys who did a "crab dance" on the red carpet during the event... Well I met up with them later at night and they TAUGHT ME how to do it..

TALES FROM THE RED CARPET...

Canadian actress Ellen Page isn't content with her acting career... She told reporters on the red carpet that she wants to become a psychologist and help people for free... What a nice girl!!

The big story was Gary Busey... He was just nuts!! He crashed two of Ryan Seacrest's interviews with Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney on the live E! pre-show broadcast...

Busey walked up to a the stars during their interviews at 2 different times and gave them bear hugs & kept asking them "Where the party is at?!"... The actresses were wondering why he was hugging them and quickly left Ryan's questioning because they were annoyed... Gary strikes again!!

Another fun thing that happened was these guys from Brazil that just started dancing...

KRISTIN CHENOWETH: HOT!!

Actress, Kristin Chenoweth is my vote for BEST DRESSED on the red carpet today...

She'll be singing later on in the night during the awards!!

Heidi Klum and her husband Seal!! They've never been to the Oscars before, so no wonder they arrived early!! I really think she should have lost the "dress collar" and just worn a strapless red dress... oh well...

On a side note: It just started to rain again as George Clooney pulled up... prob. to cool off his HOT HOT HOT girlfriend!!

It's the night before The Oscars, and Amanda and myself headed to the red carpet to see what goes on the night before... Pretty much its just a bunch of media outlets practicing their lines and camera angles... but something I didn't expect was meeting Ryan Seacrest... We spoke to him for a quick second before he was rushed off to do more work... Oh well!!
